I was speaking with my sister yesterday, and I told her through my housing transition I had to be in integrity with myself, and a part of that, was releasing my Dog cupid to a better home. Someone with more capacity to care and love for cupid in not only an emotional way but also physical. Cupid true to her name is such a loving and amazing dog, many life times with my girl! But a part of loving her is deeply understanding that, having a pet, is a funny type of karma, because we should not… So if we are going to have them then we must do the service of loving and caring for them because they are our relatives… In the intricate web of belonging they are here to partner with us. Not to have dominion but to live and co create together with all the elemental spirits, pet spirits, plant spirits, they are not the same as us but they are no different.
I loved this moment to reflect on the connectedness of all things. One of my favorite mindful activities when I first started my journey was " GO hug a tree today, and thank the tree for without it you would not be able to breathe…"
Another experience that was truly profound for me was the integration of mushrooms. I remember my first philosophical trip and I was in New Orleans staring out of the window and I just kept saying wowwwwww I could have been anything I could have been a tree but I am me , and I get to experience as me , but the tree too gets to experience the world… from being a tree, the tree is not the same as me but the tree is not different than me … In the grand web consciousness seeks to experience itself so it becomes all things…
When we live in this way, we live in great reverence we see that the thing that connects and creates all beings is intricately inside of all things… And because of this we can experience the world we live in differently, more fully, looking around and seeing our brothers and sisters amongst the plants and animals, this reverence allows us to look at each other in this deep beautiful, interconnected way as well… not placing hierarchy on the things that separate us rather embracing the things that tie us 🤞
Side Bar, trees are also the elders and ancestors of this world, communicating amongst each other from their vast root network, then imparting us with knowledge from a simple ask, and auric merge … Trees Gotta Love Em
